Disclaimer

CountNook records manual input and applies documented counter rules. It does not verify the real-world event, professional decision or personal judgment behind a number.

Manual input remains the user’s responsibility

CountNook changes state in response to taps, clicks, keyboard actions and imported files. It cannot observe attendance, inventory, repetitions, stitches, scores or practice quality. Check important values against the real activity and correct a mistake while the relevant undo, correction or reopen path is still available.

Where a count matters beyond personal convenience, keep the original record or an independent check appropriate to that activity. CountNook is a working aid, not the authoritative source for an attendance, stock, safety or competition record.

General counters

Goals and bounds are organizational controls, not guarantees that a target is appropriate or that a count proves completion. A custom step applies the number selected; it does not inspect what one action should represent.

Stitch & Row

The project records the stitch, row or round and repeat details entered. It does not read a pattern, inspect fabric, identify a missed stitch, calculate garment fit or certify that the chosen repeat length is correct.

Game Night

The scorekeeper totals complete signed-score rounds under the selected high- or low-score direction. It does not know a named game’s rules, validate a score, enforce turns, settle a dispute or invent a tiebreaker.

Music Practice

Clean and Retry are self-judgments. CountNook does not listen to audio or assess pitch, rhythm, technique, mastery, health or readiness to perform. A streak is a record of the choices made, not an independent proficiency result.

Browser saving is useful, not permanent custody

“Saved in this browser” means CountNook verified the local copy it wrote. It does not mean there is a remote backup. Private browsing, storage eviction, site-data clearing, browser changes, device loss or software failure can still remove work. Multiple tabs use a one-writer safeguard to prevent quiet overwrites, but that safeguard is not cloud synchronization or collaboration.

For the tools that provide JSON, the export is the restorable CountNook backup and import replaces rather than merges the current workspace after validation and preview. CSV is a readable route-specific snapshot and does not preserve the complete event journal or undo history. Music Practice has no file route. Keep important exported files in a location you control and inspect a preview before replacing current browser data.

Services can fail without a fabricated success

A browser, hosting platform, network or external provider can be unavailable. CountNook does not promise uninterrupted access or recovery of unsaved local state. Contact and Feedback distinguish a known failure from provider acceptance and from an indeterminate outcome. Provider acceptance does not confirm inbox delivery or guarantee a response.

CountNook is a practical counting utility, not medical, legal, financial, safety, professional craft, competition or music instruction. Do not use a displayed number as the sole basis for a high-stakes decision. The Privacy page describes data paths, and the Methodology describes how behavior claims are checked.
