Browser-local storage

CountNook uses functional browser storage for counter state, recovery and protection against open tabs quietly overwriting each other. This information is needed to save and protect work in the current browser. It is not sent to a CountNook account because no such account service exists. Each tool keeps its saved work separate, so one tool’s data is not treated as another’s.

Browser storage can be removed by private-browsing behavior, browser settings, site-data clearing, device loss or storage limits. JSON export is the portable, restorable format for the general, Stitch & Row and Game Night tools. Their CSV files are readable snapshots, not restoration files. Music Practice does not expose a file export. See the Disclaimer for the practical recovery boundary.

Analytics and regional consent

When Google Analytics is configured, CountNook can measure page views. In regions where permission is required, analytics stays off until the visitor selects Allow analytics. Rejecting is an equally available choice. In regions where analytics may begin by default, a Privacy choices control allows it to be rejected. Where a consent control is not required, none is shown.

CountNook chooses the regional consent approach from the visitor’s country and, where needed, region. If that location is unavailable, CountNook asks before loading analytics. The regional setting and the visitor’s Allow or Reject choice are kept in this browser so the choice survives navigation and can stay in sync across tabs. Analytics remains off while a choice is pending or rejected. CountNook does not use advertising.

Contact and Feedback messages

The two forms are separate but collect the same kinds of information. Name and subject are optional; email and a message are required. Each form checks the fields and uses an unobtrusive anti-spam field plus Cloudflare Turnstile before delivery.

After successful verification, Brevo receives the form kind, optional name and subject, visitor email and message for transactional delivery. The visitor email is used only as Reply-To; it is never used as the authenticated From identity. The Turnstile token is not included in the Brevo message. Vercel hosts CountNook and applies separate limits on repeated submissions for Contact and Feedback. Both forms are available; their success and failure messages describe the outcome of each request.

Missing required setup produces a visible “Nothing was sent” failure. A successful hand-off means Brevo accepted the message; it does not prove inbox delivery or promise a reply. Brevo and Vercel may retain request or message information according to their account settings and applicable policies.

Optional external support links

Buy Me a Coffee and Ko-fi links are optional external destinations. CountNook does not send counter workspaces to them. Their sites receive the ordinary information produced when you choose to follow an external link, and their own terms and privacy practices apply there.

Your practical choices

You can use the counters without an account, decline analytics where a regional choice is offered, avoid the message forms, avoid external support links, export supported JSON backups, or clear CountNook site data through browser controls. Clearing data can remove saved work, so export first when the relevant tool provides that control.
