Correct any completed round
Open a round, replace the full set of scores and save once. Its number and original completion time stay fixed; the revision and correction marker show that saved scores changed.
Keep one shared round-by-round scorecard for 2–8 players or teams. Enter signed scores together, correct the ledger, and finish only when the result is ready to be final.

One complete round
Begin with two player or whole-team labels, add up to eight, and put them in the order you want to use around the table. Choose whether the highest or lowest total wins. The scorekeeper does not know the rules of a named game; it records the values your group agrees to enter.
Name and order the sides. Labels may use Unicode and right-to-left text. Names stay correctable after scoring, and completed scores stay with the right player or team after a rename.
Start the next round. Starting the round locks membership and order so an existing score is never backfilled for a new participant or silently removed.
Enter every score. Positive values add points, negative values record penalties, and an explicit zero records no change. Blank means incomplete; it never turns into zero.
Finish the whole round. CountNook saves every participant score together or saves none of them. Draft values do not affect totals, leaders or CSV output.
Results without invented rules
Totals and ranks come only from completed ledger entries. In a highest-score game, larger totals lead; in a lowest-score game, smaller totals lead. Equal totals share the same competition rank, so a tie can read 1, 1, 3. Roster order stays stable inside the tie, and CountNook never applies a hidden tiebreaker.
Open a round, replace the full set of scores and save once. Its number and original completion time stay fixed; the revision and correction marker show that saved scores changed.
Reopening removes the latest completed round from totals and restores its scores for editing. Resubmit it, restore it unchanged, or deliberately discard it. Older rounds use correction and cannot be deleted.
An active scorecard may name a leader or co-leaders, never a winner. Finish after at least one complete round to declare the winner or co-winners. Reopen explicitly before changing a finished game.
Undo reverses the latest eligible setup, score, correction or game-status change. It cannot pass a later change or restore changes from before New game or an imported backup.
One browser holds the scorecard
This browser saves the current Game Night scorecard separately from the other CountNook tools. Another phone or browser does not receive it. The device can be passed around the table, but there are no accounts, private player views, permissions, cloud sync, live links or simultaneous multi-device scoring.
“Saved in this browser” appears only after CountNook checks that the browser stored the change. Browser settings, private mode or cleared site data can still remove it. Multi-tab protection prevents quiet overwrites; it is not collaboration.
JSON preserves the current game, including an unfinished round, completed scorecard, participant names, corrections and available Undo history. Import checks and previews a whole replacement. It does not merge two copies.
CSV lists every current completed round and participant with signed scores, running totals, current totals and ranks. It reflects corrections and current names. It is readable spreadsheet data, not an import or event-history restoration format.
CountNook does not interpret sports or board-game rules, time turns, roll dice, create brackets, choose a tiebreak, or decide whether an entered score is fair. The group remains responsible for the game and the numbers.
